I am in the process. 2 reasons.

      1. 5-lugs just look like the rest of the BMW family, and no longer make you feel inadequate when you seen every other BMW swap wheels. When it come to wheel options, there 1000 times more designs available.

      2. Bigger brakes. I hate 4 lug e30;s with 17's. The giant gap between brakes and rim looks sad. Waiting until the very last moment to brake before the corner is awesome, and gives more of a rush. Not to mention it's cheaper to 5-lug than buying bigger brake kit.

      There.

My S50 convertible came with E36 M3 front 5-lug and E36 318ti 5-lug already done. I don't care too much one way or the other about the 5-lug wheels, but the huge M3 brakes look awesome, and the wear parts should be easier to source than aftermarket BBK's.

So, yes on 5-lug as long as the PO pays for it and does the work. Ditto for bling wheels, S50 swap, Mtech kit, new top, paint job, trunk full of audio junk, etc. But now I'm just being a smartass...

I just welded those onto my 4 lug struts when I shortened my strut housings and welded on the perches for coils.

I would do it for the fact that quality OG wheels like ACS, BBS RS'S, Alpina and Hartge are much easier to find and more affordable in 5 lug. IF you find a set in 4 lug, they tend to be more expensive then 5 lug because of their rarity. Just my 2 cents. Also, when I do mine it is going to be e30 m3 or not at all.

                              Cheers,

                              Brian
