e30 shocks into e36 M struts casings?

    This is a quick how to video showing how to modify stock E36 M3 struts for the installation of Koni strut inserts.


    its so easy a caveman could do it. (hope i don't get sued for this one)

        not in the video... i did. transfered full e30 suspension (shocks, coilover/sleeves, collar nut section etc)

        for now, here's a basic overview. all cuts measured and made:


        i do not want to hear any comments on the e30 strut welds :|

          that tube cutter is strong enough to cut the struts? i was thinking of hack sawing it but that might be more accurate.

                yeah...i'm long overdue on this writeup...been school/work/e30 workload is overbearing at the moment...i'll write it tomorow during class.

                  I have a used pair of front e36M3 strut housings, springs, and top mounts if someone needs them for this really cool project. Great instructional video! Still not sure on why you are welding on the riser to the strut tube?
