    Interesting Brake Problem

I noticed a scrape, scrape scrape sound while driving the other day, when I got home took a look at the front wheel were it was comming from and noticed the caliper fell off and was rubbing the inside of the wheel.

I had that happen on my GTi once. It was my own fault, as I had replaced pads and rotors but forgot to torque down one of the calipers. Luckily I have not made a mistake as stupid as that since.

That's why I do my own work and do it correctly.

Pissed at the shop? You should be suing them for thier poor workmanship! Someone could have been injured or even killed if that caliper came off at speed. I would go in and raise a stink about it and have them refund you at a minimum. Then if they dont meet your demands tell them you are going to report them to the BBB and file a claim with attorney.

Same happened to me once too. I was on the interstate when it happened, and knew what it was right away because when I braked it pulled to one side.

Also made that same mistake with a wheel once too. Same situation, made it about 40 miles on the interstate before I noticed a vibration.

Never made that mistake again since either event.
