    Rear Brake Pads sticking

    Hello

I replaced all 4 pads and rotors yesterday in my car , three of the wheels came out good, but the rear passenger wheel's pads are grabbing on the rotor. They seem to be binding/sticking or something. The wheel started smoking when I was breaking in the pads. I did notice that when I was pushing the cylinder back in, it did not go in very easily, unlike the other 3 wheels. Could the caliper be bad and the cylinder not retracting? Or does anyone else have any other ideas of what it could be? Thanks

it's probably the caliper. I had two rear calipers freeze up on me a few months apart, one of which caused the car to snap oversteer at random, the other ate a brand new pad and rotor in 3,000 miles :(

you can rebuild it, or buy a rebuilt one and send in your core.

I had a wierd case with my left rear caliper once. I took it apart and hooked up an air compressor to it to shoot out the piston, and ended up maxing out the compressor (something like 150 psi). I then pushed the piston back into the caliper and hooked it up to the compressor again and it came right out. It was like the piston had somehow gotten crooked in there (I don't understand how that's even possible :?). Put it back together with a new seal and fresh grease and it works fine now. :)

Thanks for the replies guys, I worked on it some more today and figured it out. The piston in the caliper is sticking. Basically once you press on the brake pedal the piston comes out but doesn't retract when you let off of the pedal. So it looks like new calipers for me. Thanks again

When you get the new ones, take your front ones off too, and go have them powdercoated a color you like.

Just an idea, since you will have the rear ones off.
