    relocating ABS pump?

So i have my m50 swap done now...and i was wondering, has anyone ever relocated that huge ass ABS pump to say the battery tray?

I want to get an e36 airbox in there to try and make things look as factory as possible.

but the pump is just way too in the way.

You'd have to fabricate new lines and might have to extend the wiring, but there's no fundamental reason that the ABS unit has to remain where the factory mounted it.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

You have to extend all of your wiring and run all new brake lines. But other than that. ITs been done. I seen it on an E30 M3 once.

i would try to keep it lower than the MC to avoid bleeding issues.

Yes it can be done, quite easily actually.

With M50 i wouldn't do it because you can fit good intake in there anyways, too much hassle to relocate the pump. You'd try and move the pump bit further from the engine at the same position as it is originally.

right, but i dont want a cold air intake. i want to make the swap as factory looking as possible.

            good winter project. :)

i've never done it, but i'm told the ABS wire loom can easily be separated from the rest of the harness.

I've wanted to do this for a long time - same place, to the battery tray. The hardest part would be remaking all the lines, but with the right tools it couldn't be that bad.

Why ot just mount the abs pump under the stock location? Nothing could happen to it under there its less work.

under where? below the frame? there really isn't a lot of room there.
