    Diagram for Brake Hard Lines?

anyone got one if there is such a thing? i have no lift so will be changing the line that runs from the front to the back and into the distribution block for the rear on axle stands. i know it goes up and over the fuel tank but im not so sure from there on.. from what i can tell without jacking it up and crawling under with a flashlight is that the line seems to go over the tank then come out somewhere on that side and runs along behind the sill then bends and goes towards the engine bay.

anyone got a diagram or even the length of that section of hard line before bending it to shape? also FWIW i will probably deviate from the stock routing at the fuel tank and run the line around either on the outside or the inside where the tank clears the propshaft and then into the distribution block. dropping fuel tanks to replace brake lines FTMFL.

    Currently E30-less

Not sure about your car, but in my 88is the line connects to the bottom of the brake pressure regulator located below/infront of the booster.

it then runs down the "rail" and follows the same path as the fuel sending/return lines.

Once it gets back to the fuel filter, the brake line hugs the rocker and actually goes around the tank in between the tank and the rear subframe.

It then connects into the driver side of the "T" fitting where the lines split and two short hard lines connect to two rubber lines that connect to the hard lines on the trailing arm.

Let me know if you need a specific picture as I have my subframe out and am in the process of doing this now...(with no lift).

The hardest part is disconnecting the long line from the bottom of the pressure regulator, its a very tight workspace. having the subframe out make the whole job a lot easier.

RustBGon is right. i just replaced this hardline (88 325is) in an effort to eliminate a leak coming from the rear brake pressure regulator.

not to thread jack but i was wondering:

in order to try and fix this leak i have, i replaced the brake master cylinder and rear brake pressure regulator with those of a possibly non ABS scrap car. could a non ABS master cylinder in an ABS e30 be causing my leak??
