    Rear subframe will not drop!!!!

Okay, kind of a continuation from "rear subframe bushings 101" I have everything pulled apart and knocked the "pins" out from the bottom of the bushings through the topside (under the rear seat). Now the subframe, minus all lines, diff, etc. is still in place and hasnt dropped much at all. Is there something else causing the bushings to bind? If you look directly up through the bushings you can see into the car through the center where the pin goes. When I put a crow bar in there to "check the bushings" the entire subframe moves except for the metal in the center of the bushing. Is this connected to the car? Any help would be great.

The metal sleaves are probably corroded and have stuck to the holes in the chassis that hold the tops of the mounts. Just pull the whole assembly and rock it around to break the rust loose. When I did that, the mount sleaves broke inside the chassis hole, so I had to break them out with an impact hammer. You could also try shooting in some penetrating oil.

I had to use a "ladys foot" tool to jerk mine loose from the body, Jenny Morgan advised me on that. It worked great and a few good jerks and each side broke loose and dropped down.

If that doesn't work, try "Plan B"....

I had to same problem. I had to buy the biggest prybar I could find at Sears (31"). A little bit of prying and a little bit of hammering the sucker came out. Make sure you are hammering the inner metal sleeve.

the post isn't that far in the body. So using a flat head screw driver and a hammer, you should be set. you're right though, that does suck
