    Another CAB question...

My cabrio's control arm bushings are completely shot. Its time to buy new ones, but even after searching I'm still not sure of what is right for me. I don't want to fork out $150+ for these so Treehouse is out of the question. I was thinking about trying M3 offset bushings. What exactly does "offset" mean. Would these improve my handling (if at all)? I also found some Lem ones for $25/pair. How long would these last?

Also, my driver's side wheel rubs against the wheel well when the steering wheel is turned all the way to the right. Could this be because of my loose CAB's? Thanks

If its all stock you have a bent CA or strut. If its lowered and/or you have wider wheels that could be the issue.

The M3 CABs are offset and solid. Thye increase caster and are a bit more rigid. Get those.

The treeehouse ones I am still holding verdict on. Handle well but they popped BAD when I put them on, its subsiding but occasionally they still make a noise. Im gonna try some dialectric on them.
    Im now E30less.

does your wheel rub the front or the back of the wheel well? it could be a bent strut or a bent control arm. if it rubs on the front, you'll definetly want to fix that before going with the M3 offset bushings, because they will push the wheel forward even more.

how much farther forward would the wheel be with the offset CABs
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

not sure exactly.. probably around .25-.5". I guess I could find the stock wheelbase spec and measure. I do rub the fender liners with my car at full lock but that's an ix with ET24 wheels, it shouldn't be a problem on a standard E30 unless you have 9" wide wheels or something.

WIth 225s on the front on a lowered car on 7" wide wheels I didnt rub with them. Its more about proper offset and width as long as everything is undamaged in the suspension.

I'm all stock. If its my drivers side wheel (turned all the way to the right) thats rubbing, what would the rubbing in the front vs. back tell me? Is this the easiest way to tell if its the CA or strut?

Oh, also, when replacing CA's do I need to buy new joints? I'd heard that I at least should get new boots...

Other than that, I think I'll go with the Lem CA's and M3 CAB's... assuming I can find what is cauing the rub.
