New Front Pads - Brake lining light constantly stays on

Alright, so my brake lining light started to flash when braking so I decided to replace the front pads on the car.

After the installation, along with a brand new sensor, when I started/drove the car the light just stayed constantly on.

Any ideas? Would I need to reset my battery possibly? Im almost positive I installed the sensor correctly.

    Thanks a lot.

Check the rear brakes & sensor.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Even if all the sensors are good, it may take a few key cycles to reset the light.

If you literally just did the service a couple of days ago, it may not have been enough key cycles. Simply turn the key off and on (all dash lights on, but not starting the car) about 10 times, see if that does the trick.

E30 brake lining lights don't have anything to do with key cycles and do not need to be reset - it's just a ground to the brake lining light from the two sensors.

if it's on, the sensors are either broken or not connected properly. I got tired of the stupid system, since I always had false lights with new pads, and finally removed the bulb and sensors. if you look at your brakes once in a while you really don't need it.

There may be no direct corelation but check your ABS brake sensors too, they will trigger the brake lining light as well
