    BMP replacement dust boots?

Anyone here runs them? I'm about to buy a M3 suspension and the
control arms are part of the deal but two of the boots are trashed.
Can they be saved or is it not worth it? the boots have been ripped
    when removed from the car...

I've ran them for a long time. They work fine - they don't have a clip to seal the bottom, but the pressure from having it bolted it up holds everything together.

you can also get stock style boots pretty cheap from Jack $ at www.elephantmotorsports.com, they're from a mercedes but otherwise exactly the same. I want to say $5-10 a peice? you have to email him.

if the boots are ripped, replace the ball joints or the control arms all together. The covers are meant to protect new ball joints and are unnecessary.

You can also buy Energy brand urethane covers. Cheap (like $15ish for 4) and readily available.

nah, if the ball joints are fine you can replace the boots. Not sure what covers you are talking about, but I'm pretty sure he's talking about the BMP red urethane boots.

BMP does not make red boots, Energy does and sells them to BMP...but if you wanna order your boots online go right ahead. I will get mine from OReilleys and have them in stock.

It looks to me like you got plenty of dirt in that ball joint. Bad ball joints can separate at highway speeds. I've been accused of over doing my repairs, but if that grease is dirty, I say replace the ball joint and know that you probably won't have to take that control arm off again for several years.

Thanks guys, I will get the MB parts since I don`t like the idea of boots
that are not atached to the control arm. The ball joint do look dirty but
they come with the 5lug kit I'm buying so I`ll try to save it and if I can't
I'll just reinstall my steel ones they are still good...

Does any of you guys what is the p/n of the replacement boot from MB
I know I can get them from Elephant motorsports but I would rather buy
them at the dealer here than deal with the shipping+duty+taxes.
