Got my rear rotors off and it looks like my ebrake shoes( in between the plate and the dust shield) like fell apart a little. the two litte pins with springs fell on the floor and the shoe moves around a little bit. Should i get the spring kit that bavarian sells and just replace everything while its there. Any one have a diy for this or any advice would be great. 91' 318is

Unless the parking brake mechanism had been improperly assembled, the only way the shoe retainer pins and springs could fall out would be if the backing plate holes where the pins go is rusted out. If that is the case new backing plates will be required, which in turn means new bearings. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Yes check the backing plate holes to make sure they are still good. Getting the kit is worth it. Pelican parts has a tech doc on the parking brake calibration. Not sure if it has on how to intall it. You just need to take a pic to figure out with spring goes on top and bottom and the orientation.Alex 88 m5 | 91 318is | 19 Subaru Ascent
