Can't get outer Control Arm Ball Joint to release from the hub!

I got a MAP torch. $60 from Lowes. I could get it to almost glow red!

Torches are nice. I've never had to get to that point with a control arm though. Usually a pickle fork and sledge hammer does the trick.

I use a bernzomatic torch when it comes to heating things up. Very easy to use.

if i'm not planning on reusing the control arm i always hit it on the ball joint stud. usually gets it out in 2 or 3 good whacks
