Axxis Ultimates vs Hawk HPS & HP+ (no jew jokes please)

I guess mintex red's should be in the running too.

Oh and please lets keep this thread free of racial slurs, and defense of using racial slurs. not the time nor place

I am looking for a street pad, also will be doing auto x. so i mean low dust would be ideal but I will sacrafice that for performance.

HPS or Ultimates are fine for what you want. You never really get the pads heated at auto-x, a street compound is fine.

axxis ultimates are NOT a "low dust" pad. i have them on my 5lug e30, i love them on the street. good price, good initial bite, no fade. i had the hp+ (back when it was 4lug) and they were ok. tried them at a hpde and cooked em. so i only had them for a couple weeks.

i would go with ultimates. they're cheap (bma sells them under the PBR name for like 30 bucks an axle), & perform well for street and auto-x. but they are definitely not low dust.

the pbr equivalent is called the ceramics, right? the metal masters were the ones people weren't really liking, eh?

axxiss are dustier than hawk hp+'s.

and people have said they have cooked them a lot at HPDE's. but for auto-x = fine.

want to buy mine? I am sorta leaning towards not risking melting the axxiss at the track.....and just putting in the new hawk pads. they aren't that loud. (well, they are.....really loud, but I'm not a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles)

As long as you perform a fresh brake bleed or flush before a trackday with some decent fluid (Super Blue), Ultimates should hold up at a track DE.

these are going on the touring, so they will never see a track. I'm too paranoid about fucking it up, as it's not really replaceable lol. I plan on doing a bunch of auto x in it this season though, until my 240z is painted and registerd. i want a set of webers and a cam in there too.

I'm gonna be building a couple 240z this year, soon as my 2 current projects are gone. one will be for the street, the other for the track

                    then they will be good.

                    Street = great.
                    Auto-X = good.
Track = iffy (a lot of people complaining.)

I have Mintex Redbox and they are definately low dust. I am happy with them. Probably wouldn't serve well on the track though, but for Autocrossing they work well.

Where do racial slurs come into this thread? I am confused.

redbox are low dust, eh? How would you compare them to some of the other previously mentioned pads? Cause cleaning these 15" weaves would probably be a bitch.

                        oh and tj-

ok I ended up getting the ultimates. for next time though -if the mintex red box are low dust -how do they compare to other pads, like say ultimates, or hp's? thanks

Jews are stereotypically cheap and stingy.

He doesn't want to be called a jew if he buys pads that are more inexpensive then others.

no. it's because in the other thread, which i posted a link to (now deleted apparently) had many jokes of that nature, and I requested a thread simply about brakes
