Makes sence that the Master Cylinder is the culprit

Thanks for all the replies, opinions, and physics lessons.

I had this issue before I changed my RSM's 3 days ago. My previous RSM's were "grenaded" as most are after 17.5 years of use :)

I installed some Ground Control RSM's that I picked up for $27.00 (the buy of the century!) and the new RSM's had good rubber bushings!

So the RSM theory of relativity does not apply in this case although I CAN see where it might be valid in other cases to an extent with the handling , but not with the pedal at all...

Its really weird that the pedal goes down so far sometimes and after a quick upwards "blip" then it returns to normal pedal pressure and actuation. Since there are ZERO leaks in the system - ive checked then that must be the answer. Best to change with new or is a slightly used one fine?

Do they sell a new seal kit or rebuild kit?

Get a new one. A used MC is like a used condom.

        BMAParts.com. Talk to Patrick.

I have worked with Patrick before and will call him to get a quote. They always ship using some funky service that is Airborne Overnight to me and the guy always arrives at the crack of my ass dawn... I hate getting up any earlier than 9:30 a.m.

          :)

Wonder if it is the Brake Booster though? Any way to determine if it one or the other????

look at the master cylinder, if it's damp, thats the problem if it's not chances are it's the booster. master cylinder should take an hour to get out, bench bleed the new one and reinstall.

When the booster goes out the pedal will be more firm, not go to the floor.

You will be asked whether your orignial MC is Ate or Girling. Chances are it's a Girling, but Ate's are chepaer and will fit anyway.
