    i'm braindead

I don't know, all i can tell you is I raised my subframe about 15mm and it made no difference in ride height that I can see.

Raising your subframe is like looking for WMDs. You know something's there. You just can't find it :)

I'm just barely tucking tire. in any case it's worth not having to worry about having too much camber. I was going to do a weld in kit, but raising the subframe was enough.

What do you do about the rear diff mounting point when you raise the subframe? I assume everyone is just leaving it and dealing with the fact that it's slightly angled now?

I spaced mine down with washers, not a big deal. I had left it alone before too though.

              What's your rear alignment specs?

The AKG kit comes with an offset diff bushing. But if you have a kit without it, spacers to space the diff down will work (but is not the preferred method).

I think -1.5 camber and around 1/16 toe in. tires wear even, temps are pretty even.

you still need to space the diff down to keep the driveshaft inline with the transmission/diff. I'm not sure about the diff bushing, I thought there was enough slop in the mounting point on the chassis. in any case, I haven't had vibrations or wear issues.

I'm curious as to your hard specs and actual total lowerage. Not many people actually calculate things. They just slam and go.

I double checked, it's -2.0 camber (range says -1.8 to -2.8 ). I could probably use a hair more toe but I like the way it is now, loose enough that i can steer with my right foot but still planted. :) I'd guess it's lowered 1.5-1.625"? I wish I'd measured fender lip to wheel center stock but that was in 2003...

I figured the raised subframe would do more than that :(

well you lose about 1 degree of camber for every inch you raise it. It's only really possible to raise it maybe 3/8".

ok so to raise the sub frame i just add spacers at the subframe mounts, the diff, and the rear diff mount? how many mm should i go?

Nah nah. It isn't that simple. You raise the subframe by subtracting material from the top of the subframe bushing. But for that, you need to buy special shorter bushings. IE go to akg and buy their kit.

I used the AKG 12mm kit and had to space my diff down. Here is what i did.

So i found 1/2 inch bearing sleeves at my local ACE hardware store. They work prefect to space the diff down, 1/2 a inch is 12.7mm.

                                I bought 40mm M12 x 1.5 tread pitch bolts from McMaster.com

Then installed them and now my drive shaft will spin freely.

Did an Alignment today and set the rear camber to 2.3 and toe to 0.
