BIG stopping power.... need your opinion

So i have a 2j conversion in the works for my bmw e30.
I have been pondering around forums looking for an appropriate brake kit.
i have been mainly sold on the 'massive brake kit' but like any aftermarket kit there are pro's and con's given from people.

so after much confusion on reading forums on which way to go. i ask for your opinion, what would you choose to go if you were needing rather large stopping power for a bmw e30 (will be tracked)
    thanks in advance...

UUC just came out with a kit that is a bit less then the massive kit, and is a direct bolt on design. It is a bit less as well. Seams like a nice set.

It's a custom job but I might be able to help you out. It started as a Massive Race kit (older, non-floating option) but I'm using a Wilwood 12.72" rotor instead of the wimpy 11.75" rotor Massive specs. The brackets were made in-house but if you're interested I can get them measured and/or replicated before they go on the car. I'm matching it with a 12.2" rear kit from Ireland Engineering but I have no driving impressions yet as nothing has been installed. Hopefully that will happen soon...

                ^ Gangster shit right there.

OP, also check out the Ireland Engineering kits, they have a couple options and also offer rear.

Yeah, their front options weren't up to my lofty standards but they seem like decent setups. Less "Blingy" then the Massive offerings, not as "OEM" as UUC but I'm very happy with the quality of my rear kit so I imagine the fronts can't be any worse...

I'm running one of Massive's sport kits and love that it will squeeze under a 15" set of wheels for the track if need be. If it wasn't a 'vert I would likely have the race setup but these are fine for hard street and occasional track use.

Yeah, it's all about tradeoffs. Stopping power and heat handling will put you in Massive Race territory, wheel clearance will lead you towards UUC or IE. Or you can do what I did if you're gangsta...

Fidhle, I'm wondering what you find blingy about Lee's kits? Also what are you stopping that you found other kits were being overheated?

Full disclosure, I am running an early Massive sport kit, PFC01 pads, Motul fluid and no ducting.

sounds awesome the brake setup your creating!
i was looking at the ireland engineering group for their brakes but after a bit of research found that the massive brake kit was a better option.

As for wheel clearance i don't believe this will be an issue as i have huge adapters to space my road going wheels out anyway, and ill just buy track wheels to suit.
As i live in australia freight costs normally kill me. so im trying to get it all sorted within the next month or two as a mate is bringing a car back and ill just chuck all the new goodies in the car

Lee's kits have a lot of "pretty" machining which looks fantastic but puts the price higher then the more basic IE offerings. I've only had overheating problems with a Massive Street kit (on the track with S50 power) but Lee has long ranted about the inability of narrower rotors in other manufacturers kits to handle track temps.

Now I know UUC is best for wheel clearance (and I think I'll be going with their kit) but from what I saw on IE's website they are using a Wilwood caliper now. I don't know a ton about this stuff but it seems like the same one Lee is using? I know the older IE kits used a Cobra caliper, right?
