    Girling brake caliper guide bushing

    hey-o.

haven't been here in a while, need help from r3v members who've rebuilt this part of a brake caliper. part 10 and 9 ish.

The little rubber boot that keeps dirt out (I guess is what it's for) is getting ripped on one part. While I wait for the rebuild kit to come in could I just put some more grease in there and drive it?

I hope to get the rebuild kit in some time in the next 20-30 days. But I need the car for work.

    Thanks again r3v.

The boot has little to no affect on operation of the brakes. I'd spray a bit of dry lube in there and drive the car.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I replaced both my rear calipers for ~$80.

+1 to just putting some lube in there for now. i wouldn't leave it like that forever, that pin slides in a bore that needs to have the dirt kept out of it, but should be fine until your kits arrive.

I'd just rub some silicone caulking on there.
