    M3 Struthousing Vs non-m Housing

    Specifically-

Is there a difference in the caliper mounting ears on the m3 knuckle, vs the non-m strut housing?

Do they stick out further, or what?

M3 strut is totally different from the 325. Uses a larger rotor (11") and the caliper is moved out to compensate. Also uses a different caliper and master cylinder. The strut itself differs in that the lower section that carries the ball joint and steering arm unbolts from the tube...that is all one piece on the 325...hope that helps, Chuck

don't forget that the swaybar connects to the strut on the m3 (and ix) instead of the control arm, effectively making the swaybar stiffer.

The spindle for the wheel bearing is different too.

            Thanks for your replies

I have a couple extra non-m strut housings laying around, and an extra e36 wheel bearing. I was looking into making a sleve to thread onto the axle that would accept the e36 wheel bearing -> ala 5 lugs for pretty cheap.

My main issue was whether or not the e36 m3 calipers would fit on the strut housing without modification. I know they fit on the M3 spindle, but I wasnt sure if the difference between the non-m caliper mounting lies with in the caliper, the ears, or both.
