RX7 BBK Big Brake Kit Pad Options - Track

Street pads should not be an issue. I am a PFC user and it seems finding track pads is a bit of an issue. I use PFC06 currently and really enjoy them. What options are out there? I have used Hawk before but would prefer to keep with PFC and maybe having issues finding what I need...

So those tracking with this setup what are you using? What 'track pads' are out there? IE PFC01, PFC06, Hawk HT-14/HT-10, etc.

HPS and HP+ seem to be a favorite. These pads will not hold up to a track day. I need something in the actual race pads department. Having difficulty finding them since I am a 'BMW Nerd'.

True. I should have stated mine will be mostly autox. But I have done track days on HP+ and have been totally fine.

Have you had issues eating pads?

Not but I switched away from street pads many years ago. I can easily fade a set of HP+. It's not a street pad and it's not a track pad. One of my least favorite brake pads.

I currently run PFC06 for track days.

Some of their track pads are 300 dollars an axle... PFC06 are 125 dollars for the front axle. Has to be some of the stuff I am familiar with. Not sure how I am going to match up pads from these two companies.

Stoptech makes a pretty damn good pad. Very cheap and comparable to hawks in performance. Castros use them on their lemons car but they have enough initial bite for street driving.

Figured out PFC makes their 97 compound in this size.

Hawk has Blues as well. Interesting...

porterfield has them in different compounds.

i am running the R4-s pads now, they can get a little squeely once in a while though.

The Blue compound is old technology (though we run them on our porsche, got a few extra sets with the car) They dust like crap and the modulation isn't great.

Contact Raceshopper and they'll give you a full list of every compound available for the pad shape. Their prices usually can't be beat.

On an E30 with the RX7 fronts the PFC97 up front with PFC01 or 06 in the back would be a sweet setup.

Yah I do not really want Blues... it definitely is old. Seems like 97 up front would be best. Unfortunate they do not make 01 or 06. That pad cost ~100-125 an axle. Double that for 97.
