How big is your BBK? I still have the stock backing plates behind my UUC BBK, just needed a slight tweak.

      your UUC BBK

      Hey...

I have the Massive STREET kit...280 mm rotor.....probably very similiar to the UUC?

I was just thinking Id remove the backing plate. The car is only on street to drive to tracks. ........ I know most spec e30 racers remove the plates. I figger itll lower brake temps removed. I run an s50.

The UUC kit is 298mm. I just did some tapping with a hammer to clearance the backing plate. :)

It won't hurt to remove it though. You'll need to pull the hub to remove it in one piece, otherwise you'll need to cut it in half.

just remove the whole damn thing or options for cutting: grinder with cutoff wheel, dremel with cutoff wheel, sheet metal shears, plasma cutter, your teeth, etc.

I'd just remove it, as well.

              Joel,

I trimmed mine with some metal snips and then cleaned it up with a dremel. Not much to remove as well. Lastly, I sprayed everything with rustoleum.
