Help with rear pad install

I can't get the rear pads to fit in the caliper. They each fit individually without a problem, but once I place one in (either one), there isn't enough clearance to fit the other one in.

The piston is all the way back (with a C-clamp), and the pads are the correct part.

Is there a trick to this?

Make sure the caliper mounting bolts aren't protruding. That's an easy one to miss.

Hmmm, good thought. However, since I intended on replacing the rotors too, both bolts were completely removed from the caliper.

Yeah, photos would help - I wish I'd done that when it was all apart. I'll take it apart again and take some pictures this weekend.

I'll give it another try but, it may be worth the $60 it'll cost to have JR at Auburn Foreign Car do it for me...

I bet you didn't compress the caliper piston in enough (or at all). I usually do it with my thumbs..

whatever you do don't spend $60 to pay somebody else, that's more than the cost of the brake parts themselves.
