Trying to replace a subframe at work after the lady hit a curb at speed. It's in a vert to boot. Seeing this makes me want to vomit.

If your asking if you should replace that bushing, yes.

I am replacing it, but is that plate supposed to be there? Isn't that part supposed to stay in the body?

If I am seeing things right that's part of the bushing. The bushing has a thick metal sleeve going through it and the wide washer goes on top. The part that stays in the body is the stud.

That "plate" is a washer. It is not a part of the car body.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Nothing bad happened, you just got lucky and the whole aluminum sleeve came out with the bushing. On my car both of them broke off and stayed in the body of the car and I had to bust them up with a punch to get them out. If the other one doesn't look like that then check the mounting point to see if there is part of the aluminum stuck in there.

I figured it out, and got the poly in without fault!
It really is not that hard to do the subframe bushings, hardest part is getting the old ones out lol!
