Brakes dragging. *actually front wheel bearing

I've noticed this grinding noise while driving coming from the front right wheel. The brakes still seem to work fine, but the from right rotor is much hotter than the other 3 after coming to a halt. At first I thought it might be pads, but there is plenty of life left on them.

It seems the brake is sticking. How can I get it to release on its own?

    Thanks

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Lift that corner, spin the wheel, should spin freely. If not crack the bleeder, if it frees up you have a bad hose. If you open the bleeder and it still drags, rebuild caliper.

It could be the above mentioned.
Or it could be as simple as a stuck caliper slide pin.

Thanks, I will look into it once I get a chance, can I just lubricate the slide pin?

Possibly, i just worked on my brakes and my slide pins were rusty as fudge and one was broken half. I took a 9mm barrel brush from my gun cleaning kit, chocked it in a drill and cleaned the quide pin holes out then took some steel wool to the pins themselves. Regreased em and reinstalled em after replacing the brokem one of course.

Thanks for the replies. I pulled the front brake off and the seal is good as well as the piston and caliper assembly. It is the girling type, so no guide pins to be problematic, just two bolts to hold the assembly together.

It turns out I believe I have a bad wheel bearing. Do I just need parts 3, 4, and 5 in the below picture? Maybe a crush ring for the bolt on the end of the axle as well? Thanks.

Don't bother rebuilding the hub, just get a replacement hub & bearing assembly, a new spindle nut, and dust cap.

Oh yeah, replace the hubs on both sides.

The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks Jim, I need the bearing for a 325iX, where can I get a hub and bearing assembly for the front of the ix? Pelican and autohausaz only have the bearing itself and kits for the rear.

I got my wheel bearings from blunttech for my rears (318is). My fronts came from Advanced auto, they were "no-name" and therefore cheaper. But when I got them they had FAG bearings in them. They were OEM replacements

IX is different then normal RWD E30 due to the Axle passing through the hub. Its more similar to the rears.

Hey so how'd you find outt it was the wheel bearing? I'm also getting this grinding, moaning, dragging noise at the last second I brake.
