    caster adjustment...how? what? why? etc.

My caster is really out of whack. relate to this thread. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=61932
how can i adjust my caster back to where i can put on stock size tires?
told from a bmw tech, my tierods were seized but my frame is perfect, and my control arms being old are still good.
i'm going to a different shop and need to know what can be bought or done to get my tires back to a close to stock position.

stock suspension and thr eyeball arms. the cab shouldn't be pushing the tires this far.

p.s. relate to link above for pictures.

afaik e30s dont have caster adjustment. you'll have to get caster plates on the strut towers.

and caster wont help center your tires, it just changes the angle of the struts. i would check to make sure your balljoints and everything are okay.

do you know what would centre my tires besides getting rid of my THR cab?

are you sure its the CABs?

Maybe check with THR and see if they have had any problems with people using them on stock ride height cars.

Do you have the printout from the alignment? Wondering what your caster actually is at.
Are you sure that the plastic fender liners are secured with all the hardware?
Assuming you have factory strut bearings and no aftermarket camber/caster plates, unless there is something bent there is nothing other than the CABs that effects caster

I thought you said that the lower valance looked like it was pushed in??

Something is definitely NOT right- those 195/65R14's should not rub at all. If they did an alignment, they should have the caster readings, and you can see if they are WAY off, at least then you'll know what the problem is.

looked like it but i just think on one side the bumper isn't lined up properly..the valance looks like its 1/4inch past the edge of the bumper. no biggy there.
i'm going this week to get it sorted out.

Bring your car to a body shop and put it on a frame machine. 195/65-14 is the factory tire size for your car, your summer tires are undersized. You shouldn't rub with those tires, nor with those CABs. The wheel definately looks way too far forward for just having those CABs.

                    Caster Problem

The car looks like it is sitting high. Have you checked that the springs are properly seated. Dropping the car 2" moves the wheel back about .25".

... or just do the 5 lug conversion with e36 components
