    swap TA without removing subframe?

I have acquired a straight left rear trailing arm to replace the bent one on the car. Is is possible/advisable to change out the trailing arm with the subframe in place, or does the whole enchilada need to come out? Sadly, I just paid a shop to install OEM subframe and TA bushings, so there's no "while you're at it" incentive to drop the subframe. BUT if the subframe has to come out again, I'll have weld-in adjusters put in. Dang money pit...

There is no reason to drop the subframe just to change a trailing arm. The left side is the easier of of the two since the fuel filler neck isn't in the way.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I just did mine without taking it out. It wasnt bad at all actually. I had trouble getting my subframe out, so i left it in. Jack up your car pretty high before you start.

How long did it take you? Any difficulties or clever tricks I should be aware of?

There is a write up here that makes it seem fairly easy to do without removing the subframe.
