    Solid CAB Lollipop Install

Heyo! I've been wrenching on the car for a few hours, refreshing the front suspension and have run i to a snag.

Here's the current situation: I have new lemfoerder control arms and the pre-pressed solid CAB's from Condor Speed Shop. I cannot seem to get the lollis onto the new control arms. I haven't tried anything drastic yet as it was late last night when I got to this stage of the job so I gave up for the night. So far, I have tried a BFH and some dish soap to no avail.

Any other tips on getting a solid lolli on the arm? I searched for a while last night and found some threads for rubber bushings that said ti freeze them. Can I do this with solid ones? What else should I try?

Put the control arm on the floor with the shaft that receives the busing pointed up. Apply liquid to the the bushing and the shaft. Use a deep socket or piece of pipe that will fit over the shaft as a driver and drive the bushing on with a hand sledge.

Heating the bushing in boiling water will soften the material and make installation easier.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I had a heck of a time getting my rubber M3 cabs installed. The thing that helped me the most was to use a file and get the ends of the control arms perfectly clean. I thought I had gotten them clean enough but I sent a pic to a friend who informed me otherwise. If they are perfectly smooth and corrosion free, it'll be much easier. I lubricated with Dawn dish liquid and it worked very well.

I put my Condor CAB's on with a hammer. If your hammer isn't working, get a bigger one.

Ha, thanks! I think I was just tired and afraid that I was going to do some damage if I pounded on them too hard. I'll be giving it another go tomorrow evening. Here's to hoping it goes smoothly!

Just an update: job is done. I was really glad that these solid bushings went on as easily as they did. A couple of good whacks with a BFH and a socket over the opening to drive them all the way on and I was good to go.
