    Subframe support bracket stuck?

    Good morning r3v,

I'm in the process of removing my subframe and I'm having issues with the side brackets , as the "nut" that is behind is turning with the bolt. It's not really a nut, as it's round. How the hell do I get those off now?

**pic from tutorial, I couldn't get a single bolt out**

    Thanks!

Threaded sleeve is normally welded to the bracket. Best bet is to tack weld them back on.

A decent vice grip will hold the 'nut' in place

Go buy a new support braket and bolts. Then cut the bolt off.

        Or reweld it on.

I prefer the cut off method, but I live in the worlds worst spot for rust.

Same here! But the car has only seen 2 winters in the last 15 years so it's not too bad. You should have seen my cherokee and my town car though!

I'll try and weld it. If that doesn't work, I'll just cut. I'll replace both brackets to make sure I have no issues later. I didn't see any welds so I thought I might have been doing doing something wrong.

          Thanks everyone for chiming in.
