Pulling front bearings in one piece?

Reading through Bentley, it says they'll probably fall apart. Mine are very new and would like to keep them together, but I need to pull them to send my strut housings to ground control. Any tips on pulling them in one piece?

    Skanks.

From you guys' comments, I take it that they come out in one piece. That's good, this project is getting very expensive, and another $180 for bearings is not something I'd like to spend.

Is that a 36mm socket toremove the hub nut?

Good luck with that. They most likely will come apart when you pull them.

            It's 36mm yes.

Why do you need to pull the bearings to send them to Ground Control? Hell, I gave them my housings with my old struts still in them.

Did you have your struts shortened at the same time, or just the collar welded on?
He told me they turn out better if they don't have the hubs installed, because they have to weld something down there.

Interesting. Maybe they throw a weld to reinforce the hub area. I only had the perch cut of and the new one welded on. They also threw some paint on it so I am not sure if they welded anything in the hub area.

                    Then why did you reply?

Beej, it'll be pretty hard to get both off in one piece if you decide to remove them. I got one of mine off in one piece but the other came apart (they were both shot though). It shouldn't be much more than $150 for 2 new ones by the way.

As long as they're SKF (1st choice) or FAG then you will be okay no matter where you buy them.
