I'd be hesitant to use race compounds on the street. I haven't used the same compound as you, but I've driven Hawk Ht-10s to and from the track. They don't have a lot of bite cold. Plus, when they are cold (as is the case for most street driving) they tear up your rotors.

Which compound are you running and how much do you pay for a set?

I am running Porterfield R-4 and unfortunately I am unable to reviel the price because we are a distributor and its company policy not to share that kinda info. Dont want our margins and what not getting out.

as the ATE powerdiscs are NLA, I would just go with cheap stock rotors. I've had powerdiscs for several years and I like them, but I've driven another E30 with stock rotors and hawk HP+ pads, and the brakes on that car were nuts compared to mine.

Chris, do the Hawk HP pads dust a lot?

HP+ have lots of delicious corrosive dust. Hope you're not in love with your wheels' finish. :)

This should not be considered a street pad due to excessive noise, wear, and dust.

              Please.

It's definetly a street pad. Works fine in the cold, stops quick, responsive. Dust is no worse than OEM pagids, try washing your car more than once every six months and you're fine. I've run them as "street" pads for 5 years.

Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.
