    The $40/side to remove and replace the balljoints doesn't sound worth it to me.

    I've done it each way once, and I'd pay the extra again to save myself the work.

      It gets looked at when the tires are changed and if its in good shape then I leave it. If I don't need an alignment then it's straight. Switching out a nice proven, strong, forged part for a cheap Chinese knock off gravity cast part is not what I would call a good idea. Spending money replacing perfectly serviceable parts is not what I would call a good idea.

        I only do it because I'm too poor to pay shop rates and for bragging rights that I can fix anything. It'd be nice to sip cocktails and let someone else fix my car, but then I still have to trust that they didn't fuck anything up.
