                    Here is a good run down of things it could be:

                    1: No fluid in resevoir= busted line somewhere or a bleader that came out/loose.

                    2: Fluid in resevoir= Bad MC.

                    These are the two major things that need to be addressed. And yes, get a new MC. There are a few like new ones on ebay right now for cheap.
