Proper Material for Clutch hose connector

Has anyone used something like this fitting to connect clutch hoses?

This is for a remote mounted brake fluid reservoir and now the clutch hose does not reach the reservoir. No big deal since I have enough hose left over to connect to the end of the original line.

What material (ie. brass, plastic, rubber) connector has someone used successfully without any corrosion issues? I'd like to just go to Home Depot and buy the brass fitting with 2 barbed ends.

Brass would be fine if you have to splice it. Not a huge fan of excess connections though.

The blue OEM hose is going to cost you just a little more than that brass fitting (no extra connections). It's sold by the meter and comes off rolls so it can be any length you like. I keep a roll of it at my shop.

I'll give the brass a try by first letting it sit in brake fluid overnight. I know it would be much cleaner looking with less connections and hose clamps but this is to just get it done quickly before the weekend.

Brake fluid will not harm brass. Sure as a temp fix, it will be fine.
