I'm currently attempting to press the control arm bushing and lollipop onto the control arm with the control arm off the car. I've gotten both arms to almost poke out the other side of the bushing but I can't get them to budge any more. Ive tried putting the lollipop in a vise and manhandling the control arm into it with some grease on both surfaces but I cant seem to get them to budge any more. Any tips to get them on?

I've used a pistol grip clamp as well as a home made puller made from a 6" piece of pipe with holes in it and some threaded rod.
The caution in what you are doing it that the car is supposed to be on the ground by the time your lube dries so you don't preload the CABs. I just did this yesterday, so here is how I do it.....maybe not the "safest" but I never felt in danger or anything.
With the control arm mounted to the car, I straddle the control arm mounting point so that my head is at the engine bay and the car frame/ jack stands are in between my legs. I hold the control arm bushing in my hands and I pull the bushing/mount up onto the control arm....seems I have the best leverage this way and goes on relatively easy....and a ton of dish soap on both the control arm and bushing hole!
Just be sure not to put your foot on the jackstand to use as leverage!1997 Artic Silver M3
