    Rear subframe help

So I dropped my rear subframe but the bushings were so shot the metal sleeve got seized into the car.

Does anyone know how to get them out? Little trick or something? Otherwise I'm just gonna use heat til I can break it loose somehow.

    Thanks

5/8" lag bolt from hardware store. Crank it up into the aluminum sleeve from underneath, then use a punch and hammer inside the car to hammer down on the bolt, which should pull the sleeve down with it. The sleeve itself might break as you hammer it down. Simply screw the lag screw into the remaining seized material, and repeat, until you have it all out.

To add to this good advice, on my Cabrio where you don't have access to the top of the bolt, I tapped the sleeve, ran some threaded rod in and used the weight from an Autozone slide hammer to remove the sleeve. Took all of 5 minutes after spending 3 days trying everything else I could think of. Pics in my Cabrio build thread.

Thanks for the advice. As soon as weather clears by me I'll give it a try.

Go to Lowes, grab the 5/8 bolt and some of that rebar on the same isle. I would suggest a 5lber, as I wacked off for hours. Even had my friends help whack off.

Also use PB Blaster as lube.
