    E-brake Tube

Hey guys, trying to remove the e-brake so I can drop the trailing arms but theres a couple hiccups. One, is the cable itself supposed to pull out completely from one side? I pull from the wheel side and it only moves a couple inches. And the tubing that houses the cable on the end nearest the body, the (ferrule?) Is rusted and rounded off super easy. Where do I even go with this? Any help is super appreciated.

Did you loosen the 2 nuts underneath the ebrake? If you loosen the 2 nuts underneath the ebrake you can pull out the cables and leave the cable attached to the brake mechanism.

Yeah that part sucked for me too. Not sure if it was supposed to be that way, but when I did it the brake cable (the metal cable itself) doesn't separate from the outer plastic sheath, so I had to pull the sheath ferrules from the body of the car. Then I was able to drop my subframe with the brake cables and their sheaths still attached.

Those cable ferrules can be a real bear, I wrote up a brief FAQ for removing really badly seized cables here :

If he's just wanting to remove the trailing arms he only needs to detach the shoe adjuster
