Cheaper? It depends. Hats will be slightly more expensive (more material required as they are deeper, due to the fact that rotors will be thinner and still pushed all the way inside). Instead of the $55usd rotors, the thinner ones will be $30. The difference will pay for the material for the hats.
So, same price. Still cheaper than the usuall $1500 asked at other shops for kits with hats that are not anodized, and usually never in stock.
BTW Most people will want calipers with the 1.38" pistons. Even my racecar has the 1.75" pistons, but that is because I have a big piston caliper in the back.
The installation kit can be ordered separately if you already have your old Wilwood calipers. Basic kit costs $450usd and includes 2 anodized hats, 2 stainless steel adapters, all fasteners and hydraulic fittings. For $30 extra, I will substitute the hydraulic fittings for the DOT/SAE compliant braided lines. So, $480usd + $35 shipping. That's the price for the race kit. Expect to pay $50 more for the street kit. The main difference will be that the caliper is tucked 0.44" (11,18mm) toward the inside. You still need 15" wheels with lots of clearance or 16" wheels will be a safer bet.
Other Wilwood calipers may offer more clearance, but it will be up to the user to pick one and adapt it.
Hope it helps.Last edited by Massive Lee; 11-15-2006, 05:34 PM.Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.
