Durometer is a way of rating the stiffness of urethane parts.

Mounts I've seen are generally 60, 80, 95. Higher the number the stiffer the part.

I would not recommend Delrin for a street car. It is for all intents a solid mount, not so much as aluminum but not even remotely comparable to urethane.

I figured as much with the numbers... thanks for verifying it.

Def NOT doing derelin in my car.

Would it be an issue to run Urethane bushings in the rear for the SF and TAs, but use a rubber diff mount? My dif has 280k on it, and I'm worried about having a ton of noise.

With my diff mount, I just kept it rubber to keep from having to listen to any buzzing or whirring.

You'll be fine with a rubber diff mount. That's what I'm running with urethane everywhere else. That stock rubber diff mount is plenty stiff in IMO.

So has any one else had any adverse issues with the red IE TA bushings?

Where'd u get delrin RTAB's and diff cover anyway?
I heard the opposite about delrin... The delrin is a self lubricating material, and is much more durable than urethane, so it is better for moving parts like trailing arms.

I got my Turner delrin RTABs and diff cover mount from Jason at C3 Motorsport.

I decided to just go with aluminum rear subframe mounts though. I ordered the ones from Bimmerworld. We'll see how they are once they come in and I install them.

Is there a correlation with BMP red RTABs and the red IE's?

                  I have the BMP ones.

ive got AKG urethane eccentric TAB's and subframe bushes and let me tell you that the TABs squeek like MAD like extra stupid mad. i hate it. i love the way it handles but for a 75% street car....nein. Im going to try delrin next since see that its "self-lubricating".

Ken, I have had the IE trailing arm and subframe bushings in my 85 daily driver for like 11 months now and I love them. I don't know where people get all of this info claiming they suck, don't fit, blah blah blah.

As far as the colors, all of the TA bushings are black. On the subframe bushings, the green are street and the red are race [stiffer]. Yes, when it's cold outside they will creak pulling in to a driveway but this has never bothered me, I kind of like it actually, lol.

So many people like to bash IE's products with little to no experience. I have used and installed many IE products on many E30s and been down to their shop many times and it's all good shit.

I have tired to install both the red (yes there are red), and black. they both fit like absolute shit. A fucking blind man must have measured for them. The AKGs were actually made with the right dimensions

I tried both PowerFlex and IE subframe bushings. Liked 'em both, no real noticieable NVH on my car. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

                            we have the IE black

We have the IE black trailing arm bushings in an 84 with stock subframe bushings with pieces of 2 inch abs pipe in them to stiffen them up, and the blacks weren't bad to put in, you just have to grease them and follow the directions, after putting them in, there is a little bit of noise transfer from the rear end, kind of like the hiss of a stereo when it's off station. my sons 87 has an anza exhaust so he doesn't notice it... All in all, haven't noticed much of a difference between stock and the street urethane... and mine don't squeak, learned long ago on 4X4's how to grease the heck out of them with URETHANE grease, there is a difference.. If I do this over again, I'll just use stock and spend the savings on a rear strut brace...
                            Good luck....:)

i have the bav auto red trailing arm bushings and the green ie sub mounts. The trailing arms squeal like crazy from 0-5 mph but are quiet after that.

IEIII's are great, i have green subframe+black trailing arms... no issues! the trailing arm ones were a little bigger... so it was a little bitch to put in... other than that its good!
