    AKG Subframe help NOW....please (pics)

So I pressed in my bushings today (pic 1,2). I went to install the subframe, but it appears the inner aluminum sleeve doesn't want to go all the way in (pics 3,4,5). Did i do this wrong? Or do I need to modify the sleeve?

    Thanks, Joe

Pull the aluminum sleeve out and make sure it goes up into the hole. Put them both up there, if they will stay, Then put the subframe up in place.

3 piece. The bushing itself it two pieces, top and bottom, then the aluminum sleeve.

Okay, PITA but it worked Pierced. Thanks. Now does anyone know the torque spec?

I've looked on BMW TIS and Alldata and can't fine the spec. I'm guessing 100ft/lbs. Somebody chime in if they know.

I just put my impact at full blown "crazy tight" and snugged both sides and went back and impacted them each for about 5 seconds (300 ft-lbs Ingersoll 1/2" impact).

I thought of that as well but was worried about the studs. It is my understanding that they are splinned into the body rather than threaded. So I wan concerned about stripping them. I'll do 150 buy hand. That oughta do it.

                  Thanks again Pierced.

That's a good guess! The TIS says 140 N-m or 103 lbs-ft, but this is for the stock rubber bushings. I'm not sure what the torque for the AKG bushings is supposed to be, but I torqued mine to the 140 N-m spec.

The TIS doesn't specifically call out the E30, but it does give a spec for a M14x1.5 nut which is what the subframe nuts are.
