Yes I too am wondering how increasing the size of your master cylinder bore would affect the grip the tires have on the road, that determines your braking distance.

so, if Im going to swap my master cylinder, should I just grab an E30 M3 one, the 25mm one (what car is that off of?) or do a direct replacement with the standard 325i one?

            NOt directly.

Here is the MC out of a 535. You can see how its for a car with ABS because it only has one front port. If you dont have ABS you will need to fabricate a t-fitting.

Are the drums cable? If so then you could probably just plug in both fronts but I dont see why you are worried about upgrading the fronts while the rears still are so bad.

I would work on the rear disks and vented front first.

            Im now E30less.

If you want an e30 m3 one, I've got one that I'll sell for 30 bucks.

The 325i one I jacked from a parts car fit it. I just didnt use it because I went with a much more complicated setup that required a remote resevior.

Sadly its not here and wont be here till a week or else I would send it with the MC.

It most likely will, but the fitting on the brake lines might be different.

good thing I work at a BMW Dealership.
I hope I dont have to replace that hard line though... the lines running into the ABS pump are generally a bitchass to get out.

Damn! I had no idea I needed a 10mm break line :( guess it's not going in until next month.

Here's my MC I bought from Jonathan Chan on the bimmerforums message board. It went in my '89 325i with no problems, direct fit. I like the firm pedal, but it does take more effort. Not sure what to compare it to since my old one went out shortly after buying the car.
