Sourcing a reman steering rack

Hi folks,

I've been having a hell of a time finding a reman steering rack for my '86 325e. There don't seem to be any remanufactured by ZF racks available for the E30 at all. Any idea as to how Cardone racks perform as those seem to be the only ones I can find. If anyone can help locate a quality reman power steering rack I would be very grateful.

I've heard really mixed things about that site. Some swear by it, others say the service is crap and the racks are drop shipped. Not sure what to believe.

Received mine from them direct, assembled with tie rods per my request. Works amazing and have no complaints from my experience.

If somebody sends them a 250,000-mile rack, how can they make it like new?
I don't think they do any machining. They just change the seal set, that's all.

It's probably easier to search for a low-mileage rack from a partout and then use a local company to rebuild it.

Any reason to stay OEM and not use an e36 or e36 steering rack? I pulled the steering rack form my 86 325e just for the faster steering ratio.

I'm selling it and don't feel like embarking on another project with a car I just want to get rid of. Ordered from rack doctor, hopefully all is well.
