Yes--if you don't weld on the TA reinforcements you'll tear off the bracket. Doesn't affect ride at all. I recommend the IE aluminum mounts for the rear sway that bolt thru the trunk floor also, as that is another weak point with a 19mm bar.

Wish I could answer your question about ride comfort, but I decided to remove the rear subframe and do an entire rebuild w/urethane also, but don't have it back together yet.

+1 You absolutely must weld in reinforcements on the sway link pickup points.

In general, stiffer sways don't have a big affect on ride quality over reasonably smooth roads.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Do the reinforcements come with the sway kit that IE sells? I know the rear does, but does the front?

Also, jlevie, can you take a picture of the welded reinforcement for me? I'm not going to do it, but it would be nice to have something to take to the person who will be.

If you look at the reinforcements on the turner site theres a link set of instructions with detailed pics of what to do. I just broke mine last week and had to have it fixed, It was a pain in the ass. you absolutely need the reinforcements.

Also does anyone know how to adjust the IE 19mm rear bar, I have way too much oversteer and need to loosen the bar up a bit. I see thyat adjustable endlink but which way do I adjust it?

M20b25, but it will oversteer under almost no power, when the chasiss reaches its limits the rear of the car will wash out and the minute you apply power its sideways.

Hahaha My car did that when it was wet. You sure it's not a tire related issue?

I mean a 19mm sway isn't THAT extreme. It shouldn't just lock you up like that. It could even be diff related.

You mean that bastard? No info on turner's site about installing. The only front sway reinforcement they sell is E30 M3.

My bad I thought you meant the rears.

IE's reinforcement looks pretty damn good, and it has two bolts and a plate to spread the force. Do you think the IE one needs to be welded to the trunk floor?

Fuck now I get what you were saying. I'm mildly retarded, don't mind me. I see the turner welded reinforcement for the sway to the TA.

My idiot brain didn't register "TA" when I was speed reading the thread at work.

Edit: So it looks like this is going to be quite a bit of work, refreshing my car's suspension. Everything needs work. It's old.
