E46 Yellow Tag Rack Swap

Hello all!

Like the title states I'm planning on swapping out the old steering rack in my e30 for a yellow tag rack from an E46. I've purchased the steering rack swap kit from Garagistic for my non-air bag E30, but my only question is about the inner and outer tie rods.

I'm planning on using E46 inner tie rods and E36 outer rods. What are some other options out there? I can't seem to find new inner E46 tie rods only ones sold in pairs with inner and outer. Let me know what you all think!

if you swap out the inners they will need to be machined to allow air to pass. that's specific to using the e46 racks. otherwise you'll blow the boots off.

As for where to source the inners, a good rack should have inners supplied, if not, you will either have to buy e36 inners and machine it like 82eye mentioned, or buy a set with the outer included and eat the cost, or resell the outers.
