Drop hats affect ride quality? Increasing rake

I was thinking of adding drop hats to my 325i, how does this affect ride quality with the metal on metal contact? Can I add the spring pads as well? And how much does this increase the ride height?

I'm putting OE Sport Springs on my car because I want it to be a little lower but not too low, and a tiny bit of rake.

Drop hats or stack rear spring pads or both?

    Thanks

Drop hats will lower the car another 15mm at the expense of less suspension travel/more chance of hitting the bump stop. The drop hats can take a rubber spring pads like the stock front spring hats. If having a raked look is important, spring pads in the rear are fairly easy to swap in and out, and come in a few sizes up to 15mm. Otherwise you can also try the H&R Sport or Super Sport springs to have a little more initial drop over the OE Sport then using drop hats to achieve the same overall lowering.
