Stuck 32mm steering column nut - help!

In the midst of a steering rack swap on my airbag model car (amongst other things). Trying to remove the 32mm steering column nut to separate the column in order to remove the plate so cut the wall / install my new plate, but this steering column nut will NOT budge.

any tips before I smash my arm again? My steering wheel is still on with the wheel locked, is the amount of pressure I’m applying against the lock okay? Should I be countering the pressure in some way?

For reference I am using a 15” adjustable, and it will not budge a bit. Thanks.

SOLVED - well, r3v has certainly died off compared to the days when I frequented these forums, oh well. The problem has been solved, and I’ll document it here for anyone in the future looking for a solution for an incredibly stuck column nut.

Turn off your steering wheel lock. Put an adjustable wrench on the 32mm nut, rotate the steering wheel counter clockwise until the wrench hits the transmission tunnel. Pull down on the wheel (counter clockwise) as hard as possible, it will break free. There is no way yours will be on there tighter than mine, I can guarantee it.

Thanks for documenting! Going to be doing a rack swap on my airbag model soon. What is the "remove the plate so cut the wall / install my new plate" part of the job that you're referring to? I've done a little research on the swap but none for an airbag specific car.

Also, if you don't mind me asking what rack did you go with and where'd you source it?
