My purple tag rack has some top bearing pinion play.
Does the top pinion bearing lateral play affect directness or cause vibration? or is it fairly harmless?
The steering is very direct not floaty at all so corners fine but i do hear/feel slight the play as a light noise/clunk if stationary and i quickly move the steering wheel CW then CCW a small amount like an inch. There isn't any detectable rotational free play though so i small movement does immediately move the tie rods
I am trying to chase a small vibration like the front wheels are out of balance (they aren't) and just trying to rule out pinion lateral play as a cause
