there are no aftermarket front swaybars for the ix, except for the alpina pieces which would be extremely hard to find and very expensive. you can fit any of the rear E30 swaybars though, personally I'm leaning towards the H&R 18mm. there's also the Suspension techniques 19mm and Ireland Engineering 22mm, but I think you'd have problems with snap oversteer with the 22mm bar.

FYI, the Alpina swaybar is just a modified stock ix bar (not sure how it's modified though). There is one other option, and that is the swaybar from the ix touring, I think it's 18mm (standard is 17mm). but that's probably going to be just as expensive and hard to find, as you'd have to order from a dealer.

The E30 525ix Touring, Sedan and Coupe all use 14.5 mm rear bars. The Coupe an Sedan bars are interchangeable, but the touring bar is not interchangeable.

are you sure about that? although I'm not certain of the dimensions, the front touring swaybar looks like it would fit to me. and I just checked, it is 18mm (vs 17mm). it's a moot point anyway, the cost is not going to be worth a 1mm increase in diameter, I don't think. might be a better idea to modify the stock one in a similar way to Alpina.

actually, the price doesn't look that bad. about $100. and I'm even more sure it should fit, as all the hardware have the same part #, with the exception of the bushing and swaybar itself.

apparently to stiffen up the front you just have to weld "ears" onto the stock bar. that dude with the 3.2 in his ix did it.
