Is anyone running SA Konis? TCK or GC, post your spring rate

As well as where you drive, how the car is used, etc?

    Thanks

Horrible city streets, almost acceptable city highways, auto-x (good pavement there!).
GC coilovers, 300lb/in front, 475lb/in rear

    It's stiff, but liveable.

Do you stiffen the shocks for autox or keep them set at all times?

Rebound all the way down and they are perfect that way. I feel some more rear rebound could help in auto-x, but until I get around to picking up the trunk adjustable Konis from GC, it's just not worth my time.

i use H&R sports with koni SA's. for the first few hundred miles i kept the rebound on full soft all the way around. i eventually started using full firm in the rear and 360degrees in the front and was pleased with the balance, but once i got my sparco strut brace i needed to use full soft in the front and full firm in the rear to have the most traction.

my car is slightly different, but I'm running ix H&R sports and konis. the roads here are bad in places but smooth in others. I run the fronts on full stiff (could use a little more IMO) and the rears at about 50%. I turn them up to full stiff for autocross, but it's pretty punishing to drive it that way on the street. otherwise it's stiff, but not too bad. just drive around potholes if you can ;)

I'm running 500/650 with the Koni SA's. Rear is set to full firm and the fronts are backed off just a bit (maybe 7/8ths). The shocks handle those rates just fine. Too much futher beyond that and I'd probably consider a custom valved application.

IE stage 3 (still being broken in) and the front Konis are on full, rears on factory setting. Rides nice.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

OMG! How did you break your springs? That sucks. I think you should get a warranty.

Keep em pretty stiff on the rebound, but my trunk shocks are adjustable from the top, so I change it up whenever I feel like.

I drive on POS roads, go almost airborne, and am surprised I haven't bent my 14" rims.

For the track, the GC setup simply kicks butt. I am able to turn quicker laps w/my M20 than a couple guys w/ hopped up M50 motors and H&R setups. The adjustability is a big plus. That said, in my opinion for the street, the other setups are much better. Really depends on how much you are on the street.

The 450/600 setup is what most go with. I satrted at 450/600, but have the Ireland sway bars, which required me to go to 550/600 because of their fat rear bar (wouldn't do them again). The car is no no fun at all on the street (crappy Oregon roads). I cut my struts and had them welded. I have the full GC setup, w/ the SA Koni's, adj. camber plates, Sparco strut bar (GC copied the Sparco, but I couldn't get the GC to fit my car), and a rear strut bar. I love my setup for DE days. For autocrosses I remove the rear bar link entirely. For the track I run the front shocks at 1/3 and rears at 2/3. Expecting rain for tomorrows track day so I wiil adjust to full soft all the way around.
