You'd be surprised how expensive they can get. Top of the line Tien's are like close to 5k.

But a true coilover wouldn't fit.

no it's not. springs are springs. yes, some are higher quality than others. if you can find decent quality springs that are the right height, width, and spring rate cheaper than something made for an e30, theres no reason not to buy them. same deal goes with perches, and even shocks for that matter. lots of the coilover guys use shocks from different cars when they shorten their struts.

^You should shut the fuck up, stop posting and actually read something.

farnorthracing.com, that should keep you quiet on suspension opinions for awhile.

Tien's are fucking garbage. And a true coilover does fit in the back and many places make them.

Canadians shouldn't be allowed to post either.

Why are people so cheap when suspension basically holds your life in its hand?

The brand of springs nor the valving of the strut/shock matter?

I supposed you don't know the difference between an Eibach ERS and Hypercoil spring vs a cheap knock off?

That they actually ARE the spring rate they claim to be and are consistent spring to spring. But I guess I can see how that doesn't matter. Or that struts/shocks of the same brand/model don't always have consistent damping damper-to-damper, even the expensive hand built stuff.

Go read the link I provided and come back when you have an informed opinion.

Save your money then and do it right the first time. In the end you will spend less then buying one shitty set and then buying a decent setup.

i never said any of that. i dont recommend knockoff springs or crappy ebay honda springs either. all i'm saying is that good quality suspension part of the right specifications will work whether or not they're made with the e30 in mind. if said parts are inexpensive, hooray.

Unless the car is a totaled pile that will never see the street i wouldnt skimp. Just get some owering springs and KYBs if youre on a budget.

Im sure a very well done Civic coil kit could work.. But there doesnt seem to be much point by then

+2. This might work, but you would definitely be better off getting the right stuff.
