The Bilstein difference

Is it correct that the sports just have a shorter shaft then the HD's. I was told that the valving is the same in both.

The reason I ask is I have h&r sport springs and I am replacing my shocks and struts. I don't want my right height to change or go up by using HD's in the front due to it being an IX.

HDs are for stock height, sports are meant for a lowered car. I'm pretty sure that the valving is different because of that, I could be mistaken though.

Changing your strut inserts is not going to change your ride height.

Your car is lowered--go for the sports. HDs are meant for stock ride height cars with stock spring rates.

when I was looking into struts, I was money tight, but had lowered springs, I posted questions about other brands and was told they wont hold up to lowered cars. I then read on another forum that if you run the billy HD's on a lowered car they will blow out early. but I dont know how true theat is, just what I read

however, I read almost an equal amount of pepople saying baloney , to the idea of blowing them out

so I hope you get a real answer
as for me, I held out until I could afford billy sports
and found them cheap, new , for only 220 shipped
