Limit to stacking rear spring pads?

So, how much rear pad would it take to be "too much"? I'd love to be able to stack like 5 10mm pads from a height perspective, but that must have some sort of downside (like becoming squishy and making the GC spring progressive...then again maybe this isn't a bad idea...).

Any thoughts?

I made some spring pads out of plastic last winter because my rear tires were still tucking with the GC adjusters all the way up. Worked fine for a few months, but they eventually cracked and I pulled them out.
I think I'm just going to get some taller rear springs to swap in during the snowy months.

I'd have some machined for me or something, but I'm not willing to spend much to aid in winter stunts. The ideal setup I want is 8" rear springs, since I have 6" ones and with the adjuster all the way up it looks perfect for summer. But like I said, I don't really want to spend money on this.

what are the rear spring pads? the rubber bits the springs sit on? what effect does it have removing them?!

Yeah, the mounting "pad" under the rear spring. Removing it creates possibilities of rust/noise (though most say there is none) and lowers the rear very slightly.

well if you stack too many, the spring could slip out as it won't be holding on to the little nub. I can't imagine why you'd want to add 50mm to your rear height though..

Fair enough, I doubt anyone has ever tried something like this (who wants to RAISE their car), so I'll just make my way to the dealer, buy a bunch, and experiment. Wish me luck. :twisted:
